Fast Facts: Running since 1963 and part of the ARCA championship since 1983, the 100-miler at the “Springfield Mile” is one of two dirt ovals on the schedule for ARCA drivers. One of the oldest speedways in North America, Springfield has hosted auto races since 1910, typically as part of the Illinois State Fair each August; racing legends like AJ Foyt, Curtis Turner, Bobby Isaac, and Ken Schrader are among past winners of this race.
