Jim Beaver eSports drivers Malik Ray and Garrett Lowe are ready to do battle in the eighth round of the 2023 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series tonight, as the championship heads to Darlington Raceway. Coverage kicks off at 8:30PM ET with Countdown to Green, before the green flag itself falls at 9PM ET.

After paying tribute to Ken Block in the season-opening round from Daytona, the JBES drivers chose their own throwback paints for this year’s Darlington event, and each will celebrate a driver named to NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers list. Lowe’s #15 Big Green Egg Ford Mustang is a double homage: it’s the 2005 edition of Kasey Kahne’s #9 NASCAR Cup Series “cap” car, modeled after Kahne’s preferred hat in the garage, as well as the paint scheme from the #6L Bandolero car that launched Lowe’s own real-world racing career. Fittingly enough, the numbers of the two cars Lowe will nod to tonight add up to 15.

Ray, meanwhile, will send it back to 2008 and Kyle Busch’s first year with Joe Gibbs Racing in the #7 Belching Beaver Brewery Ford Mustang. The yellow and black Pedigree scheme that Busch ran that year gained notoriety when he made contact with Dale Earnhardt Jr. in a battle for the win. The Belching Beaver logo and wordmark have been adapted onto the scheme, while Darrell Waltrip’s call of the moment has been immortalized on the TV panel.
